FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Who will be watching this audition?
A: The casting team first. If it’s the right fit, it is passed forward to the producers and director. That’s it.
Q: Will my audition be posted publicly?
A: Nope! So don’t worry! Be yourself and GO FOR IT!
Q: It says in the character description that the role of Shirin is a breakdancer…. Do I need to be good at breakdancing?
A: If you have breakdancing or any relevant experience, that’s great. Make sure you mention it in your slate. If not, that’s totally fine as well.
Q: Does it matter where I live?
A: No! We are doing a world-wide search for this role.
Q: Do I need to have a good camera to film it on? A fancy microphone?
A: Absolutely NOT. Most actors self-tape on their iPhones or Androids. These are definitely good enough for us. Please just make sure to have your phone WIDE as opposed to TALL when filming!
Q: I’ve never self taped an audition before. Do you have any advice?
A: Make sure you read the directions on the audition material and instructions.
Please tape in front of a plain, well-lit background with minimal background noise.
Your light source should come from in front of you, not one of the sides or behind. It can be as simple as natural light from a window that is positioned directly behind the camera.
Your reader/your eyeline should be just off-camera, behind it.
You can absolutely use a phone camera to record, but please, horizontal videos only.
Bust shot please (i.e. chest up)
After your read, please do a full body shot slate directly into camera stating your name, height and where you are currently based.
Q: If I have any other questions who can I contact?
